Hi! My name is Keren.
I was born and raised in South Florida and moved to Seattle for graduate school. I chose Seattle because my parents and siblings had moved here while I was in college. My family has always been very close, so it was important to me to live near them. I enjoy travel and have been to many countries, including England, Italy, Argentina, Israel, Spain, and Greece. Since my first language is Spanish, it is especially fun to go to Spanish-speaking countries.
I have always loved being around children. My career as an infant occupational therapist allows me the privilege of caring for young babies every day in the hospital setting. I help them improve their feeding and developmental skills. I am also a very proud auntie to two sweet nephews (both three years old) and two adorable infant nieces. I am lucky that my parents and siblings all live in the Seattle area. We get together at least once a week and talk or video chat almost daily.
I enjoy cooking and making creative dishes for my friends and family. I also have friends around the country that I have remained close with, despite the distance between us. I am a huge Seattle Seahawks fan and have trained both nephews to say “Go Hawks!” whenever they see the Seahawks logo.
I have always dreamed of being a mother and know that I will raise a child with lots of love, laughter, kindness, and adventure. Since I am Jewish, I look forward to celebrating holidays and sharing my cultural traditions with my child. Although I will be a single parent, I won’t be alone in raising a child. We will be surrounded by a loving network of extended family and friends that will be an important part of my parenting journey.
I am excited to open my heart and home to a child through an adoption built upon honesty, openness and compassion. As I’ve learned more about adoption, I’ve come to understand how valuable it is for children to maintain meaningful connections with their birth family. I hope to support these connections by having a warm and comfortable relationship with my child’s birth family.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me.
