Hi there!

We’re Andrew and Katrina. Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn a little more about the two of us. We’re looking forward to learning more about you, too.

Andrew is a software validation engineer, and Katrina is a senior graphic designer who works in higher education. We’re proud native Oregonians who truly love the rain. We both grew up in small towns and later lived in big cities throughout the state. We now live just outside of Portland, Oregon, with our two adorable kittens, Scarn and Phoebe.

Andrew is a big gaming, technology, and politics nerd. He enjoys playing collaborative video games and Dungeons & Dragons with his friends. If you engage him in a chat about politics or current events, get ready for a deep conversation. Andrew is an introvert who is bold, quick witted and has a passionate personality. Think Ben Wyatt, the character from Parks & Rec.

Katrina is a big creativity and design nerd who loves to make things with her hands. She enjoys making a mess in the kitchen, whether she’s baking a pie or throwing together a tasty soup. She loves spending quality time with her family and friends, chatting about the best picture Oscar nominations, or what happened on RuPaul’s Drag Race last week. Katrina is an extroverted-introvert with a bright, goofy, passionate personality. Think Leslie Knope, the character from Parks & Rec.

Our relationship is strong because it’s based on an unconditional and nonjudgmental love for one another. We trust in each other’s decisions and value the differences we bring to the table. We share the goal of living life to the fullest, and we are so grateful to have found each other. And above all else, we make each other laugh, even if it’s just with a silly face from across the room.

When we first met, we knew that having a family was incredibly important to both of us, we just weren’t quite sure how we’d get there. Katrina has celiac disease, so growing our family biologically has been a struggle. When we learned about open adoption, that passion for starting our family reignited as we saw an amazing path forward. We very much want to be parents and to share our love with a child and their birth family. Our dream for our kiddo is that they will know and have a strong, loving connection with their birth family and adoptive family. We believe it takes a village to raise a child, and with open adoption, we can’t wait for that village to come together and provide a wonderful life for a tiny human. We want to raise our kiddo to see the best in people, to be kind, honest, loving, inquisitive, and passionate about all the things that bring them joy. We are committed to open adoption, in that we have open minds and open hearts, and plan to have honest and open communication with our child’s birth family.

We know that you are considering a bunch of different options at this time, and we are so thrilled that we might be an option for you. We respect, support, and honor whatever decision you come to. We know in our hearts that whatever choice you make will be the best decision for you and your child.
