Rob and Ali
Having an open adoption means a lot to us. Our values include love, respect, transparency, gratitude, and compassion. We want to have an honest and open relationship with our child’s birth family and we look forward to raising a child who will be encouraged to follow their passions and be able to be the child they are destined to be.
Oregon is where we call home and met in 2007, then married in 2010. We enjoy traveling, playing outside, going to see music, and dining out. Our paths first crossed during a meeting where Ali was the wedding coordinator and Rob was the banquet manager of a resort. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love and realize how much we have in common. While we both have careers in the hospitality industry, we make sure to get out and play as much as we can. We live only minutes away from the most breathtaking wilderness, mountains, lakes, and rivers. Our travels have taken us to Mexico, Italy, Costa Rica, and Peru.
Rob is a compassionate, dedicated and talented man. He is the chef of the house and loves cooking all types of foods, especially his family’s Italian cuisine. Throughout his career he has been an event planner, a restaurant cook and kitchen manager, and has also managed several restaurants. Forever an outdoor spirit, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, canoeing, cross-country skiing and playing the drums. His family lives in Connecticut, where he lived until moving to Oregon. We go back to visit his family usually once a year. Our visits are full of Italian meals, lively conversations, and play with many generations of his large family.
Ali is the caring, intelligent, successful woman Rob had always been looking for. She is very talented and passionate about her work as an educator in the hospitality field. Ali has a tribe of close friends that have supported her throughout her life challenges. She is also a bit of a foodie and loves to be outside enjoying running, cross-country skiing, hiking, floating the river and camping with our dog Woody. While not able to join us on our outdoor adventures, our cat Ted rules the neighborhood around our house. Ali’s parents, sister and brother in law and extended family live close enough for us to visit regularly. We enjoy hosting holiday meals at our home and spending time with our family. We love to open our home to friends and family as we enjoy cooking for them.
We feel very fortunate to be in the position to care for and raise a child in our great community. Our town is growing every day with more families starting here all of the time. The magnet school across the street from our house would be a wonderful place to start a child’s education. There are so many great activities and learning experiences we plan on offering the child we are meant to be with. We look forward to building a long term relationship with our birth family being involved in the life of our child, inviting them to be a part of our lives as we share in our child’s growth and accomplishments. Our commitment to each other and family will be directed entirely towards the amazing soul that enters our life. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about us.
