Troy and Tee

Hi - we’re Troy and Tee and we live in a large city in the Pacific Northwest.  We’re excited to be starting the adoption process with our first child and hope to eventually have a family with 2 or 3 children.

We’ve been together over 13 years, meeting just after college while both living in Boston back in 1998.  We’ve shared many adventures together and are looking forward to sharing our lives and love with children of our own.  We were thrilled to get married back in 2008 as we celebrated our 10th anniversary together.

We have a great home in a neighborhood that benefits from rich diversity, both in the make-up of families and in its local attractions. We’re walkable to a well-rated public elementary school, two city parks, a few bus lines and plenty of local restaurants, coffee shops and shopping areas.  We’re also lucky to have lots of supportive friends and many of their kids around.

Here’s a little more about us:

• Tee’s from New England (snow!) and Troy’s from Florida (sun!)
• Tee was a fire fighter and EMT in college and still gets excited when he hears sirens. Troy has learned he can’t get Tee’s attention until the fire trucks pass by!
• We enjoy foreign languages and both took French in high school.  Troy also speaks Spanish quite well and always looks for chances to practice!  We would like our child to learn a second language.
• Troy loves sushi and yet Tee doesn’t really like fish.  We both love cupcakes, though!
• We both work with computers and technology and are amazed we get paid to do what we love.
• We enjoy trying new restaurants as well as cooking up new recipes.
• We love to travel, meet different types of people, and experience various cultures.  We’d say that Iceland, Botswana, and Hawaii have been our favorites.  We even lived and worked in London for five years.
• And sometimes we would rather just curl up on the sofa with our two cats and watch a DVD than do anything else.

We’re looking forward to raising our children to be curious and adventurous, to be generous with other people and to eat all of their vegetables!  We also are both enthusiastic about open adoption and believe it’s in the best interests of the child to grow up knowing his/her birth mother.  In many ways, we hope the experience is similar to a close aunt or family friend.  The child will grow up knowing you, understands you are important, and when old enough, also understands you’re actually their birth mother.  We hope to meet a birth mom who is interested in building the type of relationship where we all genuinely enjoy spending time together.

So in summary, we are excited to be embarking on the next - and most important - stage of our lives as we adopt our first child.  We take the responsibility seriously and will do all we can to provide the child with a home filled with love, laughter and happiness.

We wish you the best of luck in your own search through this process!
