Noelle and Jon
Hello,
We are Jon, Lauren, Blake and Noelle (from left to right). Thank you for considering us to be the adoptive family of your child. We are thrilled about expanding our family through adoption and welcoming you into our lives. Jon has proven he is a wonderful father and Noelle has become a kind, supportive stepmother. We are excited and nervous about becoming parents together but we both feel that this is the path we want to take. We have been together for more than 9 years and have watched and supported Lauren and Blake grow up and become secure, intelligent young adults. We both feel that these experiences will make us great parents to another child.
We met in 2002. Jon had been married before and had two children, Lauren and Blake. Noelle was looking for a man to share her life with and wanted to start a family. We met and chatted over a few drinks and dinner. Noelle was very nervous. She ordered Elk Tenderloin for dinner, maybe to impress Jon. Jon, to himself, thought that was the strangest thing to order, we were at a brew pub specializing in burgers. Noelle has never ordered Elk Tenderloin since that first meeting. Regardless, we hit it off right away.
Our next date was a hike with our dogs where we learned more about each other. We discovered that we had a lot in common. We both loved hiking, backpacking, traveling, kids, dogs, etc. Jon was in the military and he was impressed that Noelle could navigate in the woods and read maps. Soon thereafter we became a couple.
We were married four years later and started trying to have a child of our own, which was not to be. Finally, we decided to grow our family through adoption. We both believe that adoption is a wonderful experience for both the child and parents. All of Jon’s cousins are adopted and he has seen first hand how adoptive families are created. We both love the thought of creating a loving family for a child. Jon has proved himself a great father; Lauren is an excellent student and Blake is a competitive athlete who hopes to play Lacrosse in college one day. They are both well-adjusted, confident, teenagers now. Lauren has moved on to a local University and Blake is a junior in high school. Both are excited to have a little brother or sister. They may be beginning their own lives outside of our home but they have strong family roots . Lauren likes to come home every few weeks to reconnect and spend time with the family. She also misses the dogs and the home cooked meals.
Noelle is a Professional Engineer with emphasis in Water Resources. She is currently working part time for a firm specializing in highway bridge inspections. She feels lucky to be able to work part time because when we have a child, she will be able to still work some and be a stay at home mom. Jon is a Certified Financial Planner and has a flexible work schedule. His flexibility has served the family well because he was able to pick Blake and Lauren up after school, attend their sporting events, and be very involved with their lives.
We always make time for family dinners. We all share in the cooking and cleaning. Jon’s mother joins us most nights for dinner. We all love Mexican food so if no one wants to cook you can usually find us at one of our many local Mexican restaurants. We also like to play games after dinner. It keeps Blake and Lauren from disappearing into their rooms, and we all enjoy each other’s company over a round of Monopoly. We also like to ski/snowboard together in the winter. In the summer Jon, Noelle, and Lauren like to take the dogs running together. We are trying to get Blake to join us but no luck so far. Blake plays Lacrosse with his friends and is an expert at ball throwing for the dogs when we don’t have time to take them for a walk or run.
We are looking forward to becoming parents together. We have several friends that have young children. These friends have also waited until they were older to have children. We live in a very child friendly community with parks and playgrounds on almost every corner. Jon has lived here his whole life and knows all the great things to do with kids in the area. Jon’s mother lives about one mile away and Noelle has a sister nearby who is an elementary school teacher.
We would be honored to be chosen to become the adoptive parents of your child. We look forward to welcoming a child, birth parents and extended birth family into our lives. We wish you the very best as you continue on your journey.
