Karyn and Tony

Hello! We are Tony and Karyn and we are so excited to begin this journey with you. Family is incredibly important to both of us, and we are eager to take this step forward in our lives to begin building our family.
In our house, laughter and love are two of the most important things in our day to day lives. We both grew up in the Pacific Northwest in very different, but loving families. Tony is from a very large family and we enjoy frequent and entertaining family gatherings. Karyn, is from a very small family. As the oldest of two girls, family gatherings are just as frequent but much quieter. We usually host Thanksgiving and love celebrating with 30 of our closest family members, from both families. Our parents are great role models for us, each married for more than forty years. From them we have learned what it takes to sustain an honest, loving, and lasting marriage. We have learned that as a team we can get through anything, and we hope to pass on the love they have given us to a child of our own.
Tony works for a structural engineering company and enjoys the creativity, problem solving, and satisfaction of seeing his drawings come to life. Karyn teaches English and coaches tennis at the local high school. She revels in the opportunity to engage teenagers in learning and to see them challenge themselves in school. In our free time, we enjoy playing with our 2 year old chocolate lab, Millie, walking the trails around our neighborhood, traveling both locally and abroad, cooking (Tony is the chef and Karyn is the sous chef), and playing tennis (Karyn usually wins, but it’s always close!). We lead active and full lives and look forward to sharing these adventures with our own family.
Tony, through Karyn’s eyes: Tony is kind, hard-working, and one of the funniest people I know. He always knows how to make me laugh and most importantly, he always knows how to make me feel loved. I love watching him play with our nieces because he knows just the right way to engage them and make them smile. He always puts family and friends first and would do anything for them. I feel so fortunate to be married to Tony. He is not only the love of my life, but my best friend.
Karyn, through Tony’s eyes: Karyn is the love of my life. She is my rock. Her strong faith and her ever-loving heart keep me grounded in an ever changing world. She is a confident, well-rounded woman with so much to offer. I know she will make an awesome mother, with her patience and warm heart. She tends to always have the right things to say and has a way of making people feel comfortable in any situation. She, in the ever so famous words, completes me. I can’t imagine a life without her!
We married in 2008 and when we found ourselves faced with unexplained infertility, we knew that adoption was the right choice for us. We are excited to build our family through open adoption because family is so important to us. We see it easily extending beyond just those people living under one roof, and believe that the more people who love and support a child the better. Families come in all shapes and sizes and we look forward to growing our own unique and loving family.
