Jos and Jenn
Hi! We are Jos & Jenn, thanks for taking some time to get to know us. Please consider this a glimpse into a longer story that we’d love to share with you in person.
We met while working in the technology industry a little over eight years ago. Jos was attracted to Jenn’s infectious smile, passion for life and amazing communication skills. Jenn was attracted to Jos’s sense of adventure, focus on family and generous spirit. We have made our home in a culturally diverse neighborhood located in the heart of a big Northwest city, just a few blocks from a lake and bunch of parks. While some folks think we look alike, our unique personalities and interests keep things fresh, making for a great partnership:
• Jos is a perpetual fun-seeker, always planning our next weekend or vacation, ensuring everyone involved has a great experience. Jenn is more of a quieter spirit who enjoys a tight circle of friends, spending time in the garden, and snuggling by a fire.
• Jenn is a natural caregiver and world class listener, ready to jump into action when someone is sick or is in need of a good chat. Jos enjoys the role of “family fix-it person”, troubleshooting anything from bike chains and iPods to ovens and plumbing.
• When it comes to relaxing, Jenn loves to hang out on the beach, reading a book, building sandcastles with the little ones and soaking in the sun for hours on end. Jos tends to be in action, rallying the young and old to play a game of cards, boogie board or just take a spin around the lake.
• Jenn can’t get enough of the arts, from theatre workshops to days at the museum. Jos had never seen a live play before she met Jenn. Now we go to all kinds of shows, although some are still a little too “arty” for Jos.
• Jos loves to ski, sled and snowshoe – she can’t wait for the first flakes to fall in the winter. Jenn is less of an outdoors’ woman, although she recently returned to skiing after a 15 year hiatus & discovered that she too loves carving the northwest powder - especially with our niece and nephew.
• Family is deeply important to us and our favorite role thus far is “Auntie”. We’ve got nine nieces and nephews and enjoy spending vacations, weekends and hours on Facebook supporting their unique personalities and lives.
• We are both extremely passionate about our pets. We love our cat named Hope & our rambunctious chocolate labs Cocoa & Ollie. Let’s just say it is all fun and games around our house until someone ends up in a cone!
Our life is an evolving adventure, one that we look forward to sharing with a child and you. We are fortunate to have a large extended family (relatives and beloved friends) who are excited to support us as we evolve into this new phase of family life. We will strive to provide a happy and healthy life based on a foundation of love, trust, and a whole lot of formal education combined with interesting experiences that will enable our child to make a mark on this world in whatever way he/she sees fit. Of course, life with a little one is sure to have lots of new challenges too – we are ready to tackle all that family life has to offer, with both our heads and our hearts. To be honest, we can’t wait to start!
As we navigated the many winding roads towards fulfilling our dream of parenting a child, we discovered that building our life through open adoption is the right choice for us.
