Jenny and Lindsey

Hi there, we are Jenny (left) and Lindsey. Our dogs, Gabby and Cam, would greet you with wagging tails and kisses. We are a quirky little family of 4 (yes, in our world dogs count as family members) and we are so excited to one day welcome a precious child and you, the birthparent, into our family. We met in 2006 as we played music together for the first time. Lindsey had a successful music career as a singer/songwriter for many years, and ended up hiring Jenny to be her drummer! After a year, our music partnership transitioned into a deep and beautiful love that could weather any storm.
We’ve been together 5 years now, and have always had a passion for adoption. Neither of us have adopted family members, but we’ve both been deeply touched by adoption in the past. One of the things we knew from early in our relationship was that when we decided to grow our family, adoption would be our Plan A, our dream.
We are quite the goofballs and love being silly! Our home is warm and inviting and we love to do house projects together. We are an active household and we spend a great deal of time outside. Jenny loves to cook, garden and throw tennis balls outside for the dogs, and Lindsey loves to serenade us with her voice and make Jenny laugh. Our neighborhood is a fun suburb with kids on bikes and the elementary school just a 6-minute walk down the street. We love to spend time with our extended family and we take frequent trips to spoil our niece and nephew. Lindsey’s parents live about 20 minutes away and we spend time with them every week. Traveling is also a huge love we share. We’ve visited places like Egypt, Dominican Republic, Mexico… and many US cities. We are going to NYC this December for Christmas. We can’t wait to take our little one with us on our adventures!
Our friends describe Lindsey as the funny one who keeps everyone laughing, and Jenny as the sweet, quiet, and secretly witty one. Lindsey is the branch manager of a bank about 5 minutes from our home. Jenny is a dietitian and fitness coach at a local fitness club. We both love our jobs but have a great balance between family and work. Spending quality family time together is a huge priority and we’ve formed some really fun family traditions!
God has blessed us with a huge circle of support, friends, and a loving faith community. We both came out at age 25, and had some hard times with some friends/family not accepting us. We know all too well the feeling of being judged and not accepted. Life is never easy, but we both realized that we felt strongly about our love for one another deep within our hearts, and sticking to that was worth all the risk that came along with it. It’s been a process that’s shaped us forever and every bit of the journey has been worth it! The joy of having each other and knowing that our love is stronger than any opposition is a priceless rock to stand on as we start this adoption journey. Our passion and commitment to open adoption is greatly due to that experience – valuing full honesty, openness, and authenticity.
We strongly believe that having a child’s birth family involved in their life is invaluable for everyone, including us. We are 110% committed to being the best parents we can be, teaching our child to love others well and to change the world in their own way. We hope our child grows up knowing he/she couldn’t possibly be more loved by all of us. We have no idea what it’s like to be in your shoes, but we already have such deep respect and love for you.
