Theresa and Mike

Theresa and Mike

We’ve known each other for over 20 years, have been married for 8 years and are very excited about becoming parents!

We moved to Oregon to live close to both of our families and to escape the hustle & bustle of Southern California. We decided that the slower paced life here and having our parents, grandmas, aunts and uncle nearby would be the best atmosphere for us to raise a child (or hopefully two, someday). We are the best of friends and have experienced fun times, travel, and the trials of life together. We look forward to special moments together as a family and seeing life through the eyes of a child. We think it is important to raise our child in a joyful Christian home, teaching important values that will nurture and guide him or her throughout life. We plan to parent by communicating openly, giving encouragement and positive praise to help our child grow up with good character and confidence. Our lives are rich with love, laughter and the comfort of beloved relatives and friends, and we want to share it with a child and hopefully, you.

Theresa has a nurturing personality. She is upbeat and optimistic about life. She has a passion for health and wellness and takes good care of Mike, our dog “Biscuit”, our cat “Yellow” and anything else she can get her hands on. She can’t wait to be a mommy! Mike likes her cooking and is frequently the guinea pig of her food creations, as she is always looking for ways to make classic dishes healthier. She works part-time as a Pharmacy Technician and enjoys it very much. Among her creative interests is a glass hobby she does with her mom that they sell at local craft bazaars, an art gallery and on their own website. She is also a photography freak who takes pictures whenever she can. She looks forward to the occasional lunch and shopping with the girls and keeps in touch with many long-time friends through email and on the internet. When the weather is nice, Theresa likes to be outside with Biscuit going for walks and bike rides together on the local trails. Biscuit has a lot of energy, but is a sweet, loving dog and would make a great big sister.

Mike is an easy going and quiet person. He has a sharp wit and can be very silly. When the conversation turns to business, marketing or anything related to motorcycles and cars, it’s hard to shut him up. He has worked for over 20 years in the automotive industry and is currently employed full-time by an auto parts company. He is super honest, hard working, and entrepreneurial minded. Mike has many good friends that he has known most of his life. He has been nicknamed “Father Mike”, because he is always ready and willing to help when a friend is in need. They all enjoy getting together for their annual ski trip and camping trips where he mostly plays with the kids. Theresa thinks it’s because he’s a big kid himself! He especially enjoys the outdoors in Summer time when he goes to the lake with his Jet Ski or to the mountains to ride his motorcycle. He looks forward to sharing these fun activities someday with his own child.

After a few years of marriage we were more than ready to start a family, but after trying to have a baby on our own we were faced with some infertility issues. After some soul searching, it became evident that adoption was the best option for us to have a family. We chose open adoption because we feel it is best for a child to know exactly where they came from. Growing up is difficult enough nowadays, so we want our child to have the opportunity to know their birth family and have as many people to love him or her as possible.

We are very casual and caring people and we are open to honoring your wishes. May you have hope and comfort through this time of your life, and know that we wish you well.

Sincerely, Mike & Theresa
