Michelle and Kurt
Hello,
We are Kurt and Michelle, and we want to thank you so very much for considering us on your journey. We are amazed at your courage and selflessness at facing the difficult decisions ahead.
We’ve been together since the summer of 1996 and celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary in August 2009. We were introduced to each other at work where my aunt Kathleen had pointed Kurt in the right direction to my desk. From the time we met, we knew that we were meant to be together and have worked hard at creating our family. Our lives are rich with love and happiness and we are excited to share this with our child.
We live in a wonderful little community where children rides bikes and neighbors say hello to each other. We’re always chatting by our mail boxes or attending children’s birthday parties. Our house is next to a park and recreation center where kids and families come to play and picnic during the summer.
Our home life is warm and relaxed. At home we enjoy taking Porter, our Beagle, on walks, working in the yard, and hanging out together. We like to exercise and usually will find something fun to do outdoors. For relaxation both of us like to read action or suspense novels and watch movies, especially comedies. Michelle loves the Big Lebowski and lately has been watching 30 Rock DVD’s. Kurt loves to cook and will always try out new recipes when we have guests or just for fun on the weekends. On Thanksgiving, Kurt had brined a Turkey for two days before adding his spices to it. It was very good turkey! Michelle is the organizer and activity director and fills our weekends with activity. We have an amazing circle of friends that we see several times a month, and our household is active with people frequently visiting. We spend quite a bit of time traveling with friends to the beach, Black Butte, and to Mount Hood. We are proud to say that they are very excited about becoming aunts and uncles to our child. Our friends and neighbors have children so our child will have an instant network of playmates!
We both work in the insurance industry which provides stability and a level of flexibility in our jobs. Michelle has spent over 12 years at the same company and has moved up the ranks and now works in the National Accounts division as a project manager. This last year Kurt moved out of the payroll industry to work as an employee benefits broker that helps companies manage their health, dental, and disability insurance.
We have both known for a while that we want to start a family. We are looking forward to parenting, especially reading as a family at night, playing with toys together, and guiding our child to become a good person is why we want to parent. Our desire to parents has led us here, where we can offer a loving and caring home for a child. We look forward to opening our lives and sharing them with you and welcoming you to share the experience with us. We are excited about raising a child and supporting them throughout their lives.
