Lisa and Doug

Hello! We are Doug, Lisa and Adin, a warm and fun-loving family from Western Washington who enjoy spending time together doing a variety of activities like hiking, visiting the playground, attending concerts or simply lounging around in our family room.
We have been married for 6 1/2 years and have been together as a couple for 14 years. Adin was adopted as a newborn from OA&FS and has been the center of our world ever since. We always dreamed of having multiple children and look forward to welcoming another child to complete our family. We own our own home in a quiet suburban neighborhood which is filled with lots of other young families. Our house is the perfect size for our small family with a big deck where we enjoy eating dinner and relaxing during the summer, and a small yard with many trees and plants. Our cat Spunky enjoys watching the birds and squirrels through the picture windows in the family room and sleeping by the fireplace during the winter. There are multiple parks and playgrounds a short walk away from our house which we visit frequently.
Our friends and family describe our personalities as laid-back and easy going. When people first meet us, we may seem a little reserved or shy but once you get to know us our adventurous, fun-loving spirit becomes evident. Adin also has a very easy going temperment and a happy demeanor. We love travelling and exploring new areas, cooking, reading, spending time outdoors and hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Music is a passion for us and when we’re home our stereo is turned to KEXP or playing one of our CDs that range from local indie groups like The Long Winters and Built to Spill to classic rock like The Beatles and Led Zepplin.
Doug’s individual interests include cooking, snowboarding, computers, home electronics and watching movies. Lisa enjoys baking especially anything with chocolate, peanut butter or pumpkin. She’s determined to learn how to make pastry dough without it sticking all over the kitchen counters and herself! Lisa also enjoys running (which is a good thing after eating all of Doug’s yummy cooking and her baked treats), attending the theater and reading contemporary fiction. Doug is a stay at home dad and Lisa works for a software company which offers a flexible work environment that supports raising a family.
We are very excited to be on this journey to parenthood once again and look forward to sharing all the world has to offer with our youngest child. There was no question that we wanted to work with OA&FS again as open adoption is the only choice for us. We greatly value truth and honesty in our relationships and feel that the relationship between our child and their birthparents will be one of the most important in our lives and needs to be built on openness and honesty.
