Jane and Annie
We, Annie and Jane, realize our hearts and home are ready for a child. We choose this pathway with great respect, and love.
We are both lively, quick to laugh and have a streak of mischievousness. We have a chemistry people notice. We are open, accepting of others and have a fun energy that draws people to us. We volunteer for and are deeply inspired by an Indian saint, Mother Meera. Her presence in our lives increases our capacity to love. We love to take long walks in the Oregon forests, visit with family and friends, watch movies, do house and yard projects with friends, bike to the Farmer’s Market and meditate together. In fact, the first time we met was 4 years ago at a 6 am Buddhist meditation group. In December 2008, we sealed our commitment by becoming domestic partners and celebrated with friends at the local gelato restaurant!
Annie (left): I study cherries and vegetables as a Faculty Research Assistant in horticulture at a top-ten agricultural university. This work is very left-brained so I balance it out with my part-time massage practice. Massage allows me to connect, observe, and listen; and exercise my right brain too! I am very practical. Friends call me Can-do Annie! I love to cook, garden and mushroom hunt. I have endurance and a strong creative side. I can teach a child a sense of safety and wonder, so they can experience adventure and return to a stable, secure home. It isn’t about how far and fast one goes in life, but noticing how amazing it all is.
Jane: I am a Social Science Humanities Librarian at a university and the best part of my job is helping students with their research. At work, I am forward thinking, a generous colleague and passionate about doing my work well. I am enthusiastic about living life fully. I love learning new things, hiking, swimming, being outside and sharing a good laugh. I am gentle, open-hearted and a good listener. I feel appreciating what is around us and inside us is key to happiness. I look forward to sharing all of this, and more, with a child.
We anticipate the joy, laughter, wonder and chaos that children will bring to our lives and we feel equipped with the emotional and spiritual tools to keep us centered. We look forward to family meals; playtime; helping with homework; going on family vacations and sharing our spiritual life. Children will experience the warmth and love of our friends and family-here in our university hometown and across the United States. Open adoptions are so wonderful because your child would be able to draw on us, you, and our families when they have questions, needs, or just want to share their life!
Thank you for considering us as parents for your child(ren). We are ready with open arms to begin this journey.
Warmly, Annie & Jane
