Hello, we are Alex, Christine, and Brandon.
Thank you very much for taking time to learn about us and explore open adoption. We extend our heartfelt warmth as you make decisions for you and your child.
We met in an art class in college in Maryland. We had instant chemistry–that and a mutual love of ice cream. Chris was waitressing at an ice cream restaurant and invited Alex for a sundae. We tease each other to this day that it was "love at first scoop". We have been married for 14 years and it's great to love and be married to your best friend.
In 2006, we adopted Brandon through open adoption and he is one of our biggest blessings. Adopting has been a wonderful experience in our lives and we are very excited to expand our family by welcoming another baby. We’ve built a trusting, loving relationship with Brandon's birthmom and birthgrandma (which continues to grow) and would love to have the same kind of relationship with a second adoption. We want to form a lifelong bond so your child will know you and your family and the love you have for him/her. We feel it benefits everyone involved in many ways. We have so much love to share and look forward to nurturing and encouraging another child to develop his/her interests and talents. We both grew up with siblings so it’s something we wish for our children to experience.
We enjoy family time and some of our favorite activities include playing at the park, day trips to nearby farms for fruit picking, and trying new restaurants. At home we play games, watch movies, and gather with family and friends. We have a golden retriever, Bailey, who likes walks with us and going to the beach on our coastal getaways. Alex's hobbies include cooking, swimming and biking. He enjoys sports and challenging himself and completed his first triathlon last year. Chris's passions include making jewelry, photography, and playing tennis. Some of Brandon’s favorites are going to the playground, baseball, and singing songs. The simplest things bring us the greatest pleasure and we hope to instill this in our children–spending time with family and friends, enjoying a meal while laughing around the dinner table, a walk on the beach looking for shells, playing fetch with Bailey, or fun in the snow making snow angels and snowmen, just to name a few.
We live in a friendly suburban neighborhood where you see kids playing and neighbors stopping to talk with each other. We are a close-knit neighborhood and look out for each other. We have fun gatherings like movie night where someone shows a movie in their driveway and we gather with chairs and sleeping bags. There is a nature park within walking distance and we often explore the outdoors. One reason we chose our neighborhood is because it has excellent schools and a family oriented community. We feel it is essential to provide children with the best education and resources, a belief in God and helping others, and good values.
Alex owns his own computer animation studio with two other partners and Chris stays at home with Brandon. Alex enjoys being his own boss and the flexibility it offers. Brandon and Chris get together with playgroup friends regularly and enjoy doing fun activities like mornings at the playground, library storytime, music class, celebrating a friend's birthday (did someone say cake?) seeing a children's theatre show, and swimming at a local pool. We enjoy time at home during the day playing with cars and trains, painting, reading books, or having lunch in the "dinosaur fort". When Alex comes home from work, it's time for a game of hide-and-seek, chase, or wiffle ball. We are looking forward to sharing our fun family times with another child, and welcoming his/her birthfamily into our lives. We wish you peace of mind while making a plan for your child.
