Anna and David

Hi!

We are Anna and David from the Pacific Northwest. Here is a snap shot of our lives:

We are incredibly excited about adopting. We love children and look forward to raising one together. Now is a perfect time in our lives. We have an unusually close, loving, and supportive relationship. As established professionals, we have the time to focus on family and raising our little one. We also have flexibility in our work schedules to be actively involved in all aspects of our child’s life from the moment he or she is born. We can’t wait to hold our child for the first time, snuggle together reading stories, and play peek-a-boo! We will get involved in our child’s education and nurture the interests he or she has such as art, music, sports, or theatre. We promise you above all, we will fill our child’s life with love, nurturing, laughter, encouragement, compassion, and family.

Anna is a physician and works as a Medical Director for a health insurance company. David is a tax accountant and works from home. But he would love to and is considering becoming a stay-at-home dad. We met seven years ago playing softball in San Diego and have been together ever since. We are similar in our values, beliefs, and views but we each bring unique differences and interests to our relationship. Anna is fun-loving, adventurous, ambitious, and has a can-do attitude. She will inspire our child to discover his or her talents, pursue his or her dreams, and overcome any obstacles in the way. David is kind-hearted, laid back, easy going, and has a Zen attitude. He will teach our child to be carefree, enjoy the moment, and appreciate life and the world we live in. David will also draw on his experiences raising his two daughters from his first marriage. They are now ages 21 and 24 years and are both starting their professional careers in New York.

Family is extremely important to us. We both come from close extended families and we see our families often for special occasions, the holidays, and just to visit. We have many children of all ages in our families, including two who are adopted. We adore them all and we can’t wait for our child to be among them! Our families are very excited about us adopting and having another baby in the family. In fact, several people have already volunteered to stay with us and help us care for our baby after he or she is born.

We moved to the Pacific Northwest three years ago because of our mutual love for the great outdoors. Since we have moved here, we have hiked along many rivers and waterfalls, biked through beautiful countryside, and collected pretty sea shells and stones along the coast. We have very close friends who live nearby and we consider each other family. We do many things together with them and their children such as going to movies, listening to live concerts in the park, and having each other over for fun gatherings. Other activities we enjoy include traveling, skiing, horseback riding, watching football & other sports, and cooking. Anna also likes to swim and play the piano. David likes to grow vegetables and herbs in our garden and play the guitar.

We live in a wonderful family-filled neighborhood that is nestled in a hillside and has excellent schools. Our home is spacious yet cozy and offers a lot of space for a child to play. Our backyard is large and beyond our fence is protected land filled with trees and shrubs that attract deer, squirrels, and a variety of birds. Our child will have a great time playing with us in the backyard and will enjoy the spectacular view! We have two small, adorable dogs that are gentle with others, full of energy, and capture the hearts of children wherever we go. We frequently take our dogs to the park a few blocks away to play while we hang out with our neighbors and their families. We can’t wait to take our child to the playground at the park to play with the other kids!

We welcome openness in adoption and recognize its values for everyone involved. We want to create the opportunity for our child and our child’s birth family to stay connected in a meaningful way. We look forward to discussing with our child’s birthparents their hopes and preferences for their baby’s future and what openness they want to have with our family and their baby as he or she grows-up. We hope our profile has sparked your interest and given you a sense of whether we might be the family you want to raise your child. We recognize this must be an incredibly difficult time in your life. Whatever you decide, we wish you, your baby, and your family well.
