About OA&FS: Our Mission
Open Adoption & Family Services supports birthparents in making decisions about parenthood in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. When the choice is adoption, we facilitate child-centered open adoptions. We assist birthparents and adoptive parents as they create healthy, long-term relationships that address the ongoing needs of the child.
Open Adoption & Family Services, Inc. is a private, nonprofit adoption agency with a progressive approach to building healthy families. In 1985 we began providing services to birthparents and adoptive parents in Oregon. Our programs were expanded to Western Washington in the early 1990s and to Eastern Washington in 1998. With offices in Portland, Eugene, Medford and Seattle, OA&FS is licensed by the states of Oregon and Washington.
Since the founding of Open Adoption & Family Services in 1985, more than 1000 infants and children have been placed with adoptive families throughout the United States.
