Sara’s Story
The following audio excerpt is from a wise, witty and touching speech given by an adoptee named Sara at a national open adoption conference in Michigan in 1999. Sara, who was raised in an open adoption, was 19 years old at the time of the conference. She is now a 23-year-old college student living and working on the East Coast. She invites you to listen to her story, with the understanding that her open adoption is a work in progress that continues to develop and evolve.
